  5. Description:    NTeX is a TeX distribution for Linux. TeX is a software system
  6.         that was originally written by Donald Knuth to typeset texts.
  7.         LaTeX is a set of macros for TeX written to simplify 
  8.         typesetting with TeX. NTeX consists of 6 package sets:
  9.         Base, Extras, Languages, Japanese, Fonts and Source. Base
  10.         provides the programs TeX, MetaFont, gsftopk, XDvi, DviPS,
  11.         DviLJ, BiBTeX, AUCTeX, TeXInfo, MakeIndex, GloTeX, IdXTeX,
  12.         XFig, TransFig and a few additional tools, the formats Plain, 
  13.         LaTeX2e, AMSTeX, AMSLaTeX, the CM and DC fonts, PostScript 
  14.         fonts. The extras packages provide MetaPost, TeX--XeT, XLaTeX,
  15.         XTem, XTeXShell, TiB, BibBview, BibTool and the formats ETeX, 
  16.         PLFTeX, LaTeX2.09, MTeX, MusicTeX and Xy-Pic and some extra
  17.         macro packages. The language packages support German, Greek,
  18.         Hebrew, Icelandic, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Arabic,
  19.         Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, African (FC Fonts), Tamil,
  20.         Telugu, Syriac, Georgian, Osmanian, Bashkirian, Eiad, Shavian,
  21.         Hieroglyphs, Cherokee, Cypriote, Ogham, Runes, Futhorc,
  22.         Klingon, Tengwar and Ugaritic. The Japanese set containts
  23.         JTeX, JLaTeX2e and the Wadalab fonts. The fonts packages 
  24.         provide the fonts BBM, BBold, Blackletter, Brushscr, Calligra,
  25.         CMB, CM Bright, CM Fraktur, CM Old English, CM Typewriter,
  26.         Cun, DoubleStroke, Halftone, HGE, Logos, various mathematical
  27.         symbol fonts, CM Outlined, OCR, Pandora, CM Pica, Punk, APL,
  28.         Barcodes, BBDing, Capital Baseball, Dancer, Dingbat, Duerer,
  29.         Elvish, Futhark, GIS, Go, Goblin, Gothic, Hands, Karta,
  30.         Knot, LA, LAMS, magical and astrological symbols, Malvern,
  31.         Phonetic, Ransom, Recycle, Script, Sueterlin, TWCal, VA,
  32.         Visible Speech and WNRI. All the sources for the binaries
  33.         and for the LaTeX2e packages are provided by the source
  34.         package set. More details could be found in the file `INDEX'.
